Her appearance before an enthusiastic audience on September 30, 2007, was well-received and enjoyed by those in attendance.

Laila Halaby, author of Once in a Promised Land, is a prize-winning Tucsonan, who charmed the audience at her salon on March 2, 2008. She is a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection, winner of a PEN Beyond Margins Award and was on the Washington Post's 100 best fiction books of 2007.

Alan Weisman had a New York Times best-selling non-fiction hit with his mesmerizing exploration of The World Without Us. He is a faculty member of the University of Arizona, and on May 2, 2008, he explored his ideas and theories with a sell-out audience of literary salon attendees.
